Market City Rocked on Saturday night

With a free Saturday night up my sleeve for once, I ventured out to the Market City Tavern to catch a performance by Amph/lett (Divinyls) and Bon's Salute (AC/DC).

After hearing bits about the bands for a few weeks leading up and I can't say I was disappointed in their performances.

First up, Amph/lett featuring Tanya Harding on vocals flashed me back immediately to 1986 in New York where I had the pleasure of seeing the original Chrissy and crew for the only time. Though I'm not nineteen anymore...the effect was very similar!

The band powered through the hits of the Divinyls flawlessly adding their own subtle signatures to some of the tunes. Harding flaunted, strutted and teased as much as the original while singing powerfully in a compelling set that featured standards such as Pleasure and Pain, Boys in Town and of course, the sensual, I Touch Myself.

Band members Jeff Carruli (drums), Dave McQueen (bass), Andy Rolfe (guitar) and keyboardist Gino Lombardi proved to be a well crafted quartet in providing the backdrop for Ms Harding.

Be sure to check their links for upcoming performances and get out to see them if you can. Booking details can be found on their page.

Bon's Salute closed the night and rocked the house with several AC/DC standards including Jailbreak, Livewire and High Voltage among the many highlights. High voltage is actually a fitting description as the band electrified Market City.

Apologies for not getting members names due to having to leave early but from what I witnessed, seeing a full show is on the horizon.

Look for Bon's Salute at venues around Perth and make sure you catch them for an awesome, entertaining night. Follow them on Facebook and support the local lads from Perth.

Kudos to both bands on an entertaining evening.
